While other parts of the region are contracting, Dallas/Fort Worth is still exhibiting signs of expansion, given the 3.6% year-over-year employment growth (120,000 jobs added), rising rents and new groundbreakings.
Gross asking rents continued to experience growth in Q2 2016, with Class B logging more pronounced growth than Class A at 4.5% and 1.1%, respectively.
For the 24th consecutive quarter, DFW posted positive net absorption, totaling 1,285,487 sq. ft. for Q2 2016 and about 2.9 million sq. ft. year-to-date.

Developer buys vacant east Mesa bank, sees at least 5 potential uses
A former bank building at the southeastern corner of Broadway and Greenfield roads in Mesa is set to get a makeover after standing vacant for more than two years.
Phoenix-based SRS Real Estate Partners in July sold the 5,000-square-foot, single-story building for about $460,000 to shopping-center developer Ted Kruger, according to SRS broker Sean Thomas.
Kruger, owner of Nevada-based Bullseye Commercial Real Estate, has built more than 30 projects in California, Utah and Arizona.

MONROE — The former Monroe Ford dealership site on Route 17M in Monroe has been sold to Mike Hagopian, owner of Apple Auto and Loyal Auto and Towing, who will move his businesses into new 40,000-square-foot quarters in January. Hagopian has been operating his companies on other sites within Monroe and Harriman for more than 35 years. He will now consolidate all his operations on the 11.2-acre site which will be used as an auto repair and service, auto body, towing and rental business and include two impound lots.
